Janice joined the financial services industry in 2002 and enjoyed 5 years building a practice in Ottawa, with a focus on Estate and Retirement planning.

In 2007 Janice moved into management, where her career became focused on the training and development of advisors and managers. While that role has evolved over her career, her passion to support advisors in their business has remained.

Janice is member in good standing with the Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) and Advocis. She is a long-serving industry volunteer, most recently contributing to the Advocis Ottawa Chapter as Past president, Vice president and Program chair. Janice
was named the Advocis volunteer of the year in 2021.

Janice’s role is to:

1. Provide in-depth knowledge of insurance products and processes, creative sales ideas and industry insights for life insurance, critical illness and disability insurance
2. Share effective Insurance concepts and strategies for individuals and business owners
3. Provide case consultation and analysis, and seminar presentation
4. Help financial advisors with strategic solutions and product positioning

Early in my career as a financial security advisor, I
learned a very valuable lesson; the work I do when one of my clients passes
away is some of the most important work that I can do.

Becoming a CEA has increased the support I can offer my
clients. My ideal client wants to make the executor’s job as easy as
possible. They understand by reviewing what they want to happen when
they die will help their executor perform their required duties. Being an
executor is a job no one wants; a friend or loved one must pass away for it to
start. There is no training for the role and often minimal support. My process
helps the client identify ways to make the executor’s job easier. We also
involve the future executor to help them prepare and understand the magnitude
of their role.

I am a real estate appraiser preparing appraisals for many purposes such as estate settling, divorce, government seizures, relocations, capital gains, dispute resolutions, presale consultations,  MPAC challenges, Power of Sale and financial mortgaging.  I have been in the Financial Services Industry holding various positions since 1974, and bring a broad range of experience to the table.

As the financial advisor to my client families, I am often called upon to discuss estate planning and administration issues.  With direct connections to the financial institutions handling client accounts and experience in dealing with them, I can help greatly reduce the stress and save time and money for clients dealing with estate planning and settlement issues. With almost three decades of tax preparation work I also understand the personal tax return very well. Since I consider this work to be part of my holistic value to clients, there is no additional fee for these services.

Since 1998 I have been helping my clients' families turn their financial dreams into achievable financial goals.   I have a strong belief in continually upgrading my Financial Planning skills to better service my clients' needs. Over the years I have attained numerous Financial designations, to insure I  guide my clients through all of life's episodes (good or bad) so they can Maximize financial Gains, feel confident they are making the right decisions and supported through out.

My office is in Etobicoke at Burnamthorpe and HWY 427.

I used to live directly across the street from my current branch location. You wouldn't believe it, but the advisor who ran the branch at the time, walked across the street, knocked on my door and recruited me to take over the branch. I literally had opportunity knock on my door! How many people can say that?

If you had told me in high school that I would end up becoming a Financial Advisor, I would have laughed at you. But in reality, it truly is a great fit for me. I have a passion for speaking with people and learning. I also have a history of working in roles geared towards helping people. Prior to Edward Jones, I was working at Scotia McLeod for nearly 10 years.

I have been serving my clients at Edward Jones since 2005. My clients are retirement focused or retired. They often have one main goal, which is retirement income certainty. My clients have worked hard to provide for themselves or their family. They are looking for guidance on how to plan for the next stage in their life. My emphasis is always to help them reach their goals in a responsible way. I often view myself as a consultant, especially with clients who are focused on a socially responsible investing approach. At the end of the day, I am here for you, but the decision is ultimately yours.

When I'm not in the office, I like to spend time with my family. In the Summer, we are at the cottage boating or kayaking. In the Winter we enjoy skiing. I have a love for travel and prior to having our son, my wife and I backpacked around the world.

The care that my clients receive isn't solely on me. I am lucky to have a fantastic Branch Office Administrator, Sandie Kiley. Sandie Kiley is professional, client centered, outgoing and is always ready to assist in any way she can.

Ciara strives
to help clients navigate important life decisions with clarity and confidence.
Growing up in a blended family and having a lifelong interest in language,
culture, and society have shaped Ciara’s belief that understanding people and
their stories is key to building strong, lasting relationships. This
perspective naturally informs her approach to relationship building. Ciara
takes the time to understand each client’s unique circumstances and values, and
how these shape their goals.

Ciara has
practiced as a lawyer in Saskatchewan since 2016, after having completed her JD
at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law in 2015. Ciara has also
completed a BA (Hons) in International Studies at the University of
Saskatchewan and an MA in Political Science at the University of Regina. Her MA
thesis, “Canadian Approaches to Arctic Foreign Policy”, was nominated for a
Governor General’s Award in 2013.

As a Trust
and Estate Practitioner (TEP), Ciara has internationally recognized expertise
in estate planning and trust and estate administration. TEPs are members of the
Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the global organization that sets
the benchmark for excellence in the field of trusts and estates. TEPs have
proven qualifications and experience in trusts and estates and are required to
stay up to date through ongoing professional development.

As a
Certified Executor Advisor (CEA), Ciara has nationally recognized expertise in
estate administration. CEAs are drawn from as many as 17 different professions
in Canada and are committed to advising executors and working with other CEAs
to ensure executors are able to access the skills of a wide range of
professionals.

By
combining thoughtful legal guidance with a personal, client-focused
perspective, Ciara creates tailored solutions that provide peace of mind for
the future.

LLQP insurance and wealth advisor. Currently working with Lawyer's Financial Advisory from their head office in Toronto, part of the Canadian Bar Insurance Association. My focus is clients with their retirement and insurance planning/solutions. (Previously with RBC Insurance). This is a strategic designation for me as I focus more on retirement, wealth, insurance solutions. 

Currently licensed in Ontario focussedo n clients in GTA and southern Ontario and expanding to Manitoba in 2023. 

I am a Real Estate Broker and I own Realty World Legacy in Burlington.  We have been selected as the Realtors of Choice for Hearthstone by the Lake, a retirement community in Burlington.

My agents and I love working with Buyers and Sellers in our community, guiding them through the Real Estate process.
