A great course. I enjoyed the writing style(s) and clarity given in the book (a feat to combine multiple authors but still have it sound like one voice). You did a great job. I enjoyed the course immensely and am SO THANKFUL that there are leaders in the industry who came together to put this course and Association together. You are all gems! :)

Bruce CummingCLU, CH.F.C., CHS, CEA HollisWealth Insurance Agency Limited
The CEA designation has been a career changing, and therefore life changing event. As I approached my 65th birthday I found the CEA was the panacea for my retirement plans. After 25 years of providing financial planning and investment management advice I could see a way to stay involved with my clients by focusing entirely on their estate planning needs. With 70% of Canadians either not having Wills or having Wills that reflect their current wishes there is a huge need in Canada. Not knowing how to select an Executor is often one of the reasons why Wills never get done. But being armed with the knowledge gained from the CEA now allows me to break that inertia and get excellent Wills completed."

“I
recently completed the CEA program and would highly recommend this to any
member of Advocis or anyone who wants to pursue continuing
education. Learning from lawyers, accountants and the many other
professionals who put this program together was very rewarding and informative.
I learned many things I was not familiar with and can see how the CEA program
adds credibility to the whole talk about estate planning.
Working
with families, I will use this to help with the steps involved, thereby
retaining more assets after estate settlement, and dealing with all
beneficiaries of an estate to add new clients. I intend to complement
services with my extensive clientele by trouble shooting estates before clients
pass away and promote my education so they will continue to come to me for
financial advice, and now estate advice.”

With the aging population, the role of executor is becoming more frequent. The study course for the CEA designation will provide a much needed source for the executor and their role of settling estates properly, efficiently and with less chance of litigation. This course offers insight into all areas of settlement and should be a must for anyone who is directly or indirectly involved in this facet of financial planning.Allan T. The severity of family dynamics that play out in my counselling room day after day would perhaps take many people's breath away. Seldom are the dynamics felt more deeply or painfully than when a recent death has taken place. Unresolved family issues along, poor listening skills, lack of knowledge about the grieving process, and a decided absence of stress management skills cause much unnecessary havoc and pain for the surviving individuals.
It has been my experience that a strong background in stress management strategies, sufficient knowledge about how healthy and unhealthy "family systems" function, and well developed conflict resolution skills are all MUSTS for professionals faced with the task of successfully fulfilling their executor duties. I have a great deal of faith in the Certified Executor Advisor program making a difference in peoples' lives.
