I have been in the finance industry since the late 90's when I graduated form NIAT's Finance program.
I have worked at a bank, run the finances of a good sized Edmonton business, and have also earned a CPC payroll designation and did payroll for Alberta, NWT and Nunavut RCPM Guards.
I have also been the executor for both my parents. My dad was self employed, so a bit more complicated then the average. These experiences helped me see the need for proper information and also the need for someone with a the skills and experience to help navigate the waters for clients. This experience has helped me assisted my own clients.
I see the value of this designation since I had actually considered doing this as a business on its own. But I think I can assist more people before the time comes, to make the right choices, to ensure their wishes are met when the time comes as cleanly as possible.
I have been working in the financial services industry for over 30 years. During that time, I focused primarily on Risk Management and Compliance. However, my love has always been assisting members with Estate Administration. I was delighted to have this learning opportunity with the Canadian Institute of Certified Executor Advisors. I learned a ton about Estates and am looking forward to applying what I have learned in my interactions with members and other employees. I am also looking forward to networking opportunities with other CEA graduates.
