I am an investment advisor with 25 years experience through Investia Financial Services, providing mutual funds and life insurance products and advice to meet the personal needs for individuals and families before and into retirement. I have completed my RPA, and EPC designations and am always looking for additional ways to add to my education so I may better serve my clients whether they are in their working and accumulation years or later in their retirement, deaccumulation and estate planning years.

Kathy Sauerborn is the VP Retail Banking for Access Credit Union.  Access Credit Union is a strong Credit Union with over $10 billion in assets and serving 51  communities in the Province of Manitoba.  Access Credit Union offers a multitude or products and services including personal financial planning, will and estate planning, investment and retirement planning and all lending products.  Kathy leads all member facing branch staff in deposits, retail lending as well as the Wealth Management arm.  She has enjoyed over 30 years experience in the financial services industry directly related to coaching, team building, leadership, customer service, strategic planning and personal financial planning.  Her passion is leading and dealing with people and finding solutions in order to meet their financial goals.  Kathy also is on the Senior Management Team for Access Credit Union and is involved in the direction of the Credit Union in this quickly changing landscape.  Kathy values education and is always actively learning in order to stay current.  Her most recent accomplishment was obtaining her Masters in Business Administration MBA, Chartered Management Degree and various other courses directly related to Finance, Wealth and leading people.   

Phil is the President of Sawyer & Associates Financial Services Ltd. He began his career in the financial industry in 1983, right after graduating from University with a degree in Economics and began what would become a very successful career as one of the top sales associates with Sun Life Financial in Canada. In 1996, Phil earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and has continued to guide his clients through retirement and estate planning issues including assisting executors with navigating the complicated financial, legal and taxation issues they may encounter.  Phil is associated with the mutual fund dealership, Investment Planning Counsel (IPC); this relationship allows him to represent almost every Mutual Fund in Canada and a number of banking relationships.  

Phil is very active in the financial industry and is a member of the National Advisory Board with Investment Planning Counsel.  He has been happily married to his wife Lise for over 30 years, and they have two children, Cathy and Karen. Phil and his wife enjoy travelling, golf and boating on Georgian Bay on their boat named "Current Sea".

I've always been interested in the world of finance and business. I studied economics at university hoping one day to find a profession I loved and believed in. The event that solidified my choice to become a financial advisor happened over 20 years ago when my dad passed away after a lengthy illness. Due to poor financial planning and lack of professional guidance, the estate he worked so hard for was quickly depleted. Ultimately, I wanted to help others take control of their financial situations, their estates and their legacies because “a goal without a plan is just a wish.”

In 2005, I joined Edward Jones. Today, I help retirees and clients in all life stages with strategies to meet their financial goals. We work on withdrawal plans, succession plans and estate planning so they feel in control of their financial situation and secure in their decision making. We work as a team with clients as well as their lawyers, accountants and families to make sure we consider all details. I couldn't do this without Senior Branch Office Administrator Joyce Ibbott-Belvin who takes the concept of service to a whole new level.

Life changes all the time–a new grandchild, an unexpected health issue, a move to a retirement community–we regularly meet with clients to keep strategies and paperwork in line with their goals. Today, I am honoured to work with the adult children and grandchildren of my clients.
