John’s experience in the Financial industry began in 2014 when he was completing his Canadian Securities Course, and Personal Financial Planning courses through BCIT. After that, he finished his Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) and hired by the fastest growing Managing General Agency in British Columbia. Quickly learning the ins and outs of insurance planning, he had a meteoric rise in production and awarded rookie of the year with the company in 2016. Since then, John has shifted his focus to working in the Corporate Insurance market where he specializes in helping small to medium size business owners find tax-efficient retirement and estate planning solutions. John has a history of collaborative work with many different partners, including accountants, lawyers, and other high-level planners.
John has also quickly qualified as a member of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), a distinctive award given to top producing advisors in the Life Insurance industry. He recently acquired his Elder Planning Counsellor designation through the Canadian Institute of Elder Planning Studies which has provided invaluable advice to help him assist his ageing clients. John is also set to write his Certified Financial Planner’s designation exams in 2018. In his spare time, he volunteers with a non-profit organization called Junior Achievement where he teaches grade school students the fundamentals of the business world, adding his personal touch to each lesson. He then developed a practice in Financial Management for business owners and became part of a collaboration of Accountants, Lawyers, Risk Managers as well as a Management Coach. In 1989, along with Karl Krokosinski, founded Customplan Financial Advisors Inc. expanding office’s throughout Canada. He was a consultant to the National Office of Equinox Financial Group in the development of the Electronic Sales Platform, including the Financial Needs Analysis and many of its Marketing Concepts.
Ian has written numerous training systems for the industry and has spoken extensively at industry and non-industry venues.
