Beginning a career in consumer finance in 1974 Ian's first 7
years learning why many people struggle with money. In 1987 Ian joined a
life insurance firm to learn more about estate planning and
investments. Later mutual funds were added. In 1994 Ian became
an independent broker and remains so to this day.

Ian enjoys teaching people
why it's crucial to eliminate non-deductible debt as quickly as possible. This
has become a key to his work. Reducing personal
consumption while building a solid portfolio of income producing
investments can help to create a stress free, and sustainable financial
future.

for some investors and Ian has become very skilled in finding suitable
investments for most investors, from the most aggressive, to the most
conservative.

I have been an advisor in the financial Service industry since 1997. I am a Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS) and Certified Executors Advisor (CEA).

Financial Solutions, has a mission to educate and mentor clients through the ever changing world of financial planning concepts and solutions. At T.E.A.M. Financial Solutions, our goal is to balance our client’s need for education on financial planning without losing focus on the objective of providing the right financial solutions to help them achieve lifetime financial security. With clients I focus on breaking down the sometimes complex issues in a manner that people can better understand. I believe that education is the key to success.  

My main business focus is Estate and Financial planning, that is my specialty. Delivering these financial concepts in a seminar format has proven very successful. Although I have been providing financial advice since 1997, I've been presenting to groups and educating since 1992. 

Outside of the office, I am very active with the Kin Club of Woolwich which my wife, Brenda and I chartered in 2010. I currently hold the role of 2nd VP and I am also the Chairman of the Pamper Yourself for a Year Raffle that raises money for local Educational, sporting teams and Charities. I sit on the Grand River Amazing Race planning committee and serve as the sponsorship Coordinator and Marketing Director. I enjoy camping with my family and can be found exploring Ontario most weekends or at a ball diamond coaching Girls minor Softball for the Waterloo Ghosts. In the winter, I can be found in a hockey arena with one of my two children, Brandon or Maddy.

I have been a member of Advocis (The Financial Advisors Association of Canada) for 40 years. When I was a trust officer in the 1980s, I took tax and estate administration courses offered by the Trust Company Institute to get my MTI designation. I have also taken Knowledge Bureau courses on preparing tax returns for deceased persons and estates, that led to my DFA designation. I am a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Life Underwriter.

At a Financial Concierge™, we accept appointments of executor and attorney roles. In addition, we will assist and coach executors as Agent of the Executor.

I’m passionate about growing my practice in meaningful new directions. Earning the Certified Executor Advisor designation allows me to combine 15 years of experience in financial risk management and estate planning with my genuine commitment to helping families and business owners navigate life’s most important transitions.

Growing up I was the kid who counted her piggy bank every Sunday, kept ledgers and balanced sheets. I loved seeing how the numbers changed from week to week. As a teen, my dad gave me the book "The Wealthy Barber" and my world changed. I was amazed at the seemingly simple concepts but baffled as to why more people didn't know or take advantage of the information. I knew then it would be part of my personal mission to educate, protect and build wealth for as many families as I could, making an impact in this generation, but more importantly on future generations utilizing financial literacy, wealth strategies and legacy planning tools.

As a member of the Komoka-Kilworth Optimist Club, Hyde Park BIA and Women Making a Difference I value the growth and knowledge these service organizations contribute to our local and global community.

I am a Chartered Accountant and Manager with Avail LLP in Taber, Alberta. I work with our estate group to assist families with their final return and estate tax preparation needs as well as estate planning. I seek to help clients navigate their duties as executor during what can be an emotional and stressful time and help mitigate that stress by being a resource in an area that most people are unfamiliar with.

My name is Rachel McDonald, President & Owner of McDonald Estate Services Ltd.  I began my career in estate administration working with my father who practised law for over 50 years!  Although my Law Clerk Certification provided a great basis for estate administration, the lessons learned through processing thousands of Probate/Certificate of Appointment applications, or acting as a professional Executor, have been invaluable.
