Jason Trefanenko, CPA, CGA, CEPA

Jason Trefanenko is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) with over two decades of experience in public practice. He is a partner at McLaren Trefanenko Inc., a well-established accounting firm serving individuals, corporations, estates, and trusts throughout British Columbia. The firm is known for its client-focused service, depth of technical expertise, and long-standing relationships with multi-generational families and business owners.

Jason specializes in estate and succession planning, corporate restructuring, and business advisory services. As a CEPA, he plays a key role in helping entrepreneurs and family-owned businesses plan and execute successful exits—balancing financial goals with legacy objectives.

In February 2023, Darlene Tremblett became the Legal Administrative Advisor at NLCU, the largest credit union in Newfoundland and Labrador providing banking, wealth management, and insurance services to individuals and businesses. In this role, Darlene is responsible for the administration of wills, estates, small claims’ files, and commercial credit communications, providing expert advice and support to branch and commercial credit teams. An Honours graduate in Paralegal Studies at Academy Canada, she has a broad understanding of governing legislation and regulatory requirements related to wills, estates, and loans, and in-depth knowledge of NLCU policies and procedures. In addition, Darlene has undergone training in Anti-Corruption Law, Legal Compliance, Controls Frameworks, Cybersecurity Awareness, Emergency Response Preparedness, Data Analytics, Management and Protection of Information, Records Management Guidelines, Release of Information, and Version Control. She completed LEAN and Quality Standards training for Manufacturing/Service Industry and a certificate in OHS Committee Training.

I help individuals, families and business owners navigate and preserve their wealth. By utilizing a holistic planning approach, I aim to enable people to enjoy their lives with as little money worries and complexities as possible. 

Through my work network at Servus Credit Union, I am able to engage with specialists and partners on my team to delived a detailed and personalized advice for every member.

I hold CFP, PFP and FCSI designations. 

Financial plans are the foundation of my work, with investment management and insurance strategies used as tools to implement the day to day direction of it.

I am a CPA and I am a Partner in a Scarborough based firm, Vanderkolff & Associate CPA's.  Our firm provides accounting services to individuals and small businesses mainly in the GTA and surrounding areas.  We offer services in personal, corporate, Estate and Trust taxes as well as a wide variety of other essential accounting needs. 

Estate taxes and services are of particular interest to me and I have worked closely with many Executors.  I can offer guidance, advice as well as prepare the required returns, requests, statement of accounts and applicable CRA filings. My role is to assist in the proper filings and to ensure that proper taxes are paid taking into account any possible tax savings.

Santo Veltri is an experienced practitioner
in  wills and estates and family law at
Bianchi Presta LLP in Vaughan, Ontario. He received his LL.B. degree from
Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the bar in Ontario in 1983.

Santo’s practice includes the preparation
of Wills and Powers of Attorney for Property and Personal Care. He acts on
behalf of clients to obtain Certificates of Appointment of Estate Trustee With
or Without a Will, advises Trustees and Executors with respect to their duties
and responsibilities as fiduciaries and gives guidance on various aspects of
estate administration. In his family law practice, he assists clients on a
broad range of estate planning issues that often come into play in domestic
agreements.

Ioulia is an Senior Associate Lawyer with the Hummingbird Lawyers Wills & Estates practice group.  Ioulia has a diverse legal background that includes estate, family law,, civil litigation and real estate practice.  Drawing on this experience Ioulia is able to offer proactive legal advice aimed at identifying issues before they manifest into problems. She recognizes the delicate nature of Wills and Estates matters and takes great care to thoroughly understand her clients’ needs to offer tailored advice. 

A natural problem solver, Ioulia utilizes both litigation and the alternative dispute resolution methods to represent her clients. She has appeared at the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Divisional Court.
